On the 15th April, 1874 the studio of the
photographer Nadar, located in Paris at 'boulevard des Capucines,
35, opened its doors to an exhibition of one hundred and sixty five
works of art - paintings, drawings, watercolours, pastels - realised
by artists belonging to the 'Societè anonyme des artistes,
peintres, sculpteurs, graveurs', founded the year before. Among
the exhibitors there were Astruc, Bracquemond, Boudin, Cezanne,
Degas, Guillman, Monet, Morisot, de Nittis, Pissaro, Renoir, Sisley.
The
purpose of this site is to offer a historical testimony- the most
accurate possible- of this memorable event.
